My Hair History

The other day, I was reminiscing about my hair history (I literally cannot believe that I just wrote that!) and I realized that I've basically gone every single normal hair colour. I'm not talking green, blue or pink and orange stripes, I'm talking more about the average hair colours such as blonde, brunette and black.

So this is a break down of my hair colour history through the ages...doesn't that sound bizarre??

baby hair

This is my natural hair. Very curly (i prefer the term 'afro') and quite blonde. To be honest, I have absolutely no idea what my natural hair colour is today but I reckon it would probably be a yucky, mousy blonde colour. gag...ah, the advantages of being a girl and getting to dye our hair!

What? Black hair??

At the age of 12, everyone was saying that I look half Asian because my eyes point upwards slightly, so I decided to live up to my "heritage" and dye my hair black! Ok, that's not really what happened...I was in a play (ironically, playing an asian princess in the King and I) that needed me to dye my hair black. The hair dye box said that it would wash out in 24 washes, but even 3 years later, my hair was this nasty dark brown mousy colour, so byebye to natural blonde hair.
Oh and I'm loving the fringe I've got going on in this picture -  PS: that sentence is reeking with sarcasm.

Blonde highlights!

When I was 14, my mom thought I was old enough to get blonde highlights which excited me ridiculously! I like this hair colour because it's a subtle blonde but still looks natural with the brown under layers.

Do blondes have more fun?
This photo was taken when I was 16 and I was a full on blonde now! Every time I went to the hairdresser after my first highlights (in the previous photo), I kept asking to go blonder and blonder and eventually, this colour was achieved!

Now it's brunette! This photo was my best friend and I getting ready for our Matric Dance!
I really liked being a blonde but after being on Idols with blonde hair, a lot of people would just assume that I was the stereotypical "dumb blonde" or a "barbie", which is probably the opposite of what I am, so I decided that it was time to dye my hair brunette! I was really happy with the colour and had no regrets, although my mom and dad really missed their blonde Chloe.

Nice tongue you got there...

This photo was taken after I just turned 18 and I really hated this colour! I don't usually touch up my hair colour often because it's so ridiculously expensive, so this colour was the result of the brunette colour fading after about 5 months. This is what I think my natural hair colour would be. Blegh.

Taking a risk
About 3 weeks ago, after I was in dire (or should I say dyre...as in hair dye...lame joke alert) need for a touch up, I dyed my hair this colour. I have no name for this colour but I like to say that it's a brunette, purple, red colour (like beetroot maybe? Omg, i've got beetroot hair...!!!) . I'm really happy with it as it's quite unique and fun but I just hope it doesn't fade too quickly!

I think the only colour that i haven't gone is orange and I can't see that happening too soon as I don't think it would suit me. I'm happy with this colour and I think I'll stick with it for a while. :)
